Ted Alspach, designer of amazing games such as Suburbia and Castles of Mad King Ludwig, and Travis Worthington, owner of Indie Boards and Cards, have teamed up to create One Night Resistance, the beautiful blend of One Night Ultimate Werewolf and The Resistance. The Kickstarter for the project went live yesterday April 12th and is already up to $40,193 pledged of the $10,000 goal.
The game is all about hidden roles and plays 3 to 10 players. Everyone gets their specialist role card, being either a spy or part of the resistance, and then must perform the specialist action listed on their card in a clockwise order. These actions can be anything from switching roles, getting info, and trying to identify the spies. If most of the spies are revealed in one night the resistance wins. If not, the spies destroy the resistance and the future is lost!
Kickstarter backers will be getting some special promo items that won’t be included in the retail version of the game such as three extra specialists the Defector, Rogue, and Blind Spy. The Kickstarter is set to ship in September 2015, but Indie Boards and Cards wants the game to be ready for GenCon and Essen. Jess: I have gotten pretty good at these types of games over time. No one ever seems to believe I am a man eating werewolf. That said I am excited to see how this plays since you only have one night to figure out who is going to stab you in the back!
