When I was a kid, I wanted to be Indiana Jones. I had no idea that archaeology wasn’t a action-packed gunfight and trap filled dungeon filled with lost treasures, but to this day I still think it is a darn cool profession. Chi Wei, from Shepherd Kit, has developed Adventurer’s Kit, a game for kids that captures the wonder and excitement of being an archaeologist on an exciting adventure to discover artifacts from around the world.
The 2-4 player game comes with a 28” x 19” world map with 30 artifact locations. Random artifacts will be distributed to these spots and players will select their vehicle, which will give them a special ability, different starting point, and a unique route. You will travel the world, find encounters, and collect artifacts along the way.
Jess: the part I find extra cool is there is a sand pit full of artifacts! At the end of the game, the player with the highest total value of artifacts is named the True Adventurer and get to excavate the sand pit first.
The mini artifacts look really cool as well. They are made of wood, pottery, porcelain, and copper.
This is the kind of game I could really get into when I was a kid and it could totally be fun as a family game. Unfortunately the Earliest bird packages are all gone, but for a pledge of $75 or more you can get the regular Early Bird Apprentice Adventurer package. It comes with Adventurer’s Kit (Apprentice) + all unlocked stretch goals.
Check out the Adventurer’s Kit Kickstarter to find out more, but head over soon as it ends in just a few hours!
