Jess: Potion Explosion is a really fun game based on a similar idea to that of match 3 digital games. With Asmodee Digital announcing that Potion Explosion is now getting ported to iOS and Android Devices, I find myself pondering the time space continuum and how this alchemical meta-loop will affect it. I’ve come to the conclusion that it will add a whole bunch of fun to existence.
Potion Explosion, by Horrible Games, is being developed by Studio Clangore to be a faithful digital port of the board game. You’ll gather up alchemical components like Unicorn tears, dragon smoke, ogre mucus and fairy dandruff (in the form of marbles) to create powerful potions.
As you take marbles they cascade down. If two or more matching marbles touch they trigger explosions that net you more ingredients. The potions earn you points, but can also be used to give you one time bonuses.
The mobile game will offer multiplayer mode where you can play against other alchemists all over the world. You can also earn your rank on the leaderboard to prove once and for all that you are a master potion mixer!
Potion Explosion will be available early December on iOS and Android for $6.99. You can check out our Game In A Minute review of the original game here:
