Every time I go to Josh’s place, I eye his copy of Her Majesty’s Service. Its gold leaf edged box calls to me and I regret I have not had a chance to play it yet. Today I found out that Cool Mini or Not (CMON) is continuing the story of ‘The World of SMOG’, which Her Majesty’s Service takes place in, and I am all grabby hands.
In Rise of Moloch, 2-5 players enter the steampunk World of SMOG. It’s a one vs. many game so one player will take on the role of the Nemesis, a member of the secret society known as The Cult. They will work against the rest of the players who are part of the Gentlemen of the Unicorn Club, a group dedicated to protecting the crown.
The game is a campaign driven adventure played over a series of missions.Similar to games like Mansions of Madness and Betrayal at House on the Hill, each mission will have new goals and you will build a new map using tiles and minis.
Keith Thompson and Christophe Madura are the amazing artists behind Rise of Moloch. I love the asthetic they have created.
The matching minis for this game are also pretty badass. Just look at that werewolf!
I’m looking forward to see what kind of story this game will tell and now I really need to sit down and play Her Majesty’s Service so I can get a better sense of the world. Have you guys played it? What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below!
You can get a copy of the game on Kickstarter for $100. It is kinda steep for my blood, but it does seem like you are getting a lot of game for the price. The campaign only has 7 days to go so check out Rise of Moloch on Kickstarter now!
