Geek Chic Closes its Doors

To the great despair of gamers, the furniture company Geek Chic has made the following announcement that they will no longer continue their business.

“It is with great sadness that I must announce Geek Chic has ceased operation.  Despite heroic efforts by many, this outcome is out of our hands.  While I am certain there are many outstanding questions, we are currently limited in our ability to respond. I will update this page with appropriate contact information and procedures as they become available.

I am forever indebted to those who joined us on this adventure, and am absolutely gutted about it’s end.

Robert Gifford”

This news leaves many of us scratching our heads wondering what happened and for many a bigger question: What will happen to their orders? Will they be fulfilled? Will their money be refunded? Sadly we have no answers so far. I’m really bummed to see them go. Geek Chic tables were of superb quality and I had wanted to invest in one for years now.

This is unfortunate news and hopefully Geek Chic will answer all their patron’s questions soon. If you have any helpful news about the situation please post it below and help out your fellow gamers.

    1. Re: J

I just contacted my bank (Wells Fargo) and they said that I do not have a time limit imposed upon me as far as how long I have to dispute a charge (My first payment to GC was over a year ago). Given that I was in the build queue, and GC hasn’t contacted me personally to tell me my fate yet, is there an urgency to me disputing the charge immediately, or would the outcome likely be the same if I wait a few days to get more information?

  1. What are you waiting for? Word from GC that they’ll spend more money completing your table? I wouldn’t bank on that. Get your money back.

    1. Point taken. I’ve never been in a situation like this so it’s a new experience for me. I guess I just have/had a foolish hope that somehow GeekChic had the capacity to make this right for me. But based on your comments and other message boards I’ve read, it does sound like Visa will have more capacity to help me than a drowning company…

      Thanks, J.
