Jess: One of my favorite reality TV shows is The Great British Bake Off (GBBO) on the BBC. I hate when people on reality shows are snarky jerks, so it is a breath of fresh air to watch the pleasantly polite baking competition. In the show twelve home-bakers have their skills put to the test to see who will be the next Best Amateur Baker.
So what does this have to do with board games? Well the most recent episode covered biscuits (cookies or crackers if you’re American) and not only did the bakers need to make delicious delights, but they also needed to make them resemble board games. Mmmm board game cookies…
Several classic board games, like Chess, Snakes and Ladders, and even Operation, were recreated out of biscuits. The results were pretty awesome!
The Great British Bake Off offers recipes for bakers at home to follow and if you are tempted to try your hand you, GBBO has Sophie’s Snakes and Ladders Biscuit Board Game on their site. It looks as adorable as it sounds delicious. You can find the recipe here!
This show is absolutely delightful! Now I’m going to have to go make myself a few biscuits board games!
