Fans of Hidetaka Miyazaki’s video game Bloodbourne will be excited to hear that the monster slaying game is being turned into a card game by Cool Mini or Not! The designer, Eric Lang, posted this tweet about the game.
He also said “Bloodborne is a card game based on the Chalice dungeon runs, where players compete to kill monsters and take their blood. But don’t die!… risk management with a bit of groupthink, inventory management/upgrades and tactical play in an intense 30 minute card game. Yes, I played it on Playstation. And yes, I sucked horribly at it. My goal with Bloodborne was to channel the intensity and frustration of the video game into a contest between players. Lots of death.”
Eric is the genius behind XCOM: The Board Game, Dice Masters, and Star Wars: The Card Game, so he has proven himself to be a master of creating great games out of strong IPs. The game will be based off of the Chalice Dungeons from Bloodborne, which are difficult, optional areas in the game.
There are no release dates yet, but we are sharpening our saw cleavers in anticipation. What do you guys think? Are you fans of Bloodbourne the video game? Let us know in the comments below!
