Based on pulp revenge movies like Kill Bill, Old Boy, and Django Unchained, Vengeance is Mighty Boards’ newest game to hit Kickstarter. 1-4 players take on the roles of wronger heroes looking to take down the gangs that left them for dead.
You will work to build your hero up until they are powerful enough to take down the boss of they enemy gang. You have 4 different gangs to get your revenge on: Zuce Clan, Lordz, Tengu-Kai and the Hell Riders, but Mighty Boards is also offering an expansion with the Rosari Gang, which comes with an extra ganag, hero, and everything you need to raise the player count to five.
The game comes with over 50 minis, 18 custom dice, illustrated hero boards (reminiscent of the Post Human character boards), tiles for the Gang’s dens, tons of cards, clips, cubes, and more. The game uses a combination of cards (which let you heal or upgrade or give you abilities and items) and dice drafting to boost effects or give their character additional benefits.Once their hero is ready, you’ll get to wade them into battle. The player who earns the most vengeance points wins.
Jess: Titan Forge created the minis and they look pretty badass!
Jess: Vengeance has already surpassed their $50,000 goal, so now backers are unlocking stretch goals. You can get your copy of the game for a pledge of $90 which will come with the core, the Vengeance soundtrack, and stretch goals. While $90 is a lot to invest in a game, we really enjoy Mighty Boards’ previous work Post Human. The component quality is great and the game is pretty fun. I expect that Vengeance will just as good if not better. Head on over to the kickstarter page to learn more.
