The Right of Kings (ROK), created by Alex Rivas, is a 2 to 4 player struggle for power. Each player represents a kingdom trying to find the rightful king and reach the medallion in the middle of the board.
At the beginning of the game you will receive 1 King card which is dealt face down and two additional cards flanking him. Every crusade (or turn) players will be able to add their own suit face cards to their court and number cards to their army.
Once you have a full court, army, and an ace in hand you can turn over your king card. If its suit does not match your own play continues. There are cards that enable you to switch cards with another player so you can manuever yourself into a win.
Once you do have a matching King, then you win the crusade and get to roll the dice to advance your marker on the map. The first person to reach the medallion wins the game.
Early backers can get the compete set of ROK for $23. This includes 1 Renaissance or Medieval playign card deck, ROK playing mat, ROK pawns, Custom ROK dice, and Heraldic box. The sets are due to ship Jul 2017 so they have a pretty quick turnaround time. The Right of Kings Kickstarter goes live March 1st so keep an eye on their Facebook page for more updates until then.
