I used to read famed mystery author, Agatha Christie, when I was a kid. Her detective stories were wonderfully devious and are still being remade into movies to this day. Modiphius Entertainment has announced they will be publishing a new card game based on Christie’s work, called Agatha Christie – Death on the Cards.
This bluffing/deduction game for 2-6 players was designed by Dr Tomas Rawlings (Auroch Digital) and uses a deck of 80 cards to narrate the investigation of a murder. The players must work together to root out who among them is the killer. Death on the Cards draws on classic stories and features some of Christie’s most famous characters such as Detective Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Harley Quin & Mr Satterthwaite, and Parker Pyne.
“It’s been a real privilege to work on a game design based on such distinguished and cherished stories and characters and we worked really hard to distill some of Agatha Christie’s thrilling essence into the game.” Rawlings commented.
James Prichard, Chairman and CEO of Agatha Christie Limited, said, “I’ve had enormous fun watching Death on the Cards develop. It’s an intelligent game of skill and misdirection that gives humorous nods to the characters and words of Agatha Christie. I expect it to be a hit with fans of my great-grandmother’s works, and for those of us who simply enjoy pitting our wits against friends and family.”
The Agatha Christie Card game consists of 80 full color, illustrated cards. Agatha Christie – Death on the Cards will be available in retail this Christmas.
